Under the theme of Informing Africa, Developing Africa’, the Summit focused on how public libraries can successfully contribute to the development priorities of communities, countries and the Continent. African policy makers and public library leaders discussed issues and experiences related to 21st century libraries, reviewed examples from around the world of libraries serving as a platform for development and considered the creation of a public library network.
