A festival of languages and cultures comes to a successful end

On November 18th and 19th, a total of 11,369 language enthusiasts immersed themselves in their areas of fascination at the international exhibition for languages and cultures, EXPOLINGUA Berlin. “In times such as these, when populist trends try to convince us of the dangers presented by foreigners, it was a particular pleasure for me to witness the peaceful, open and respectful exchange of information between peoples at this year’s Expolingua”, commented Rebecca Stromeyer, Managing Director of ICWE GmbH and the event’s co-founder.

The accompanying programme, which featured interactive workshops, poetry, and panel discussions, was received with great interest by the visitors. The mini language courses, in which participants were able to gain insight into Hebrew, Korean, Indonesian, Armenian, and other languages, were particularly popular.

With 150 exhibitors from 33 countries, including Egypt, Argentina, Denmark, Great Britain, Guatemala, Canada, and Oman, visitors were exposed to the offerings available to them in a broad range of formats, venues, and durations. The providers included language schools in Germany and abroad, language-travel operators, suppliers of learning software, publishers, exchange organisations, embassies and cultural institutes.

Expolingua Berlin 2017 is scheduled to take place November 17th and 18th, 2017.
